The P800 is Sony Ericsson's first Symbian OS smartphone and is also the first smartphone in the market to use the UIQ user interface. It is a pen-based, touchscreen, 2.5G and tri-band phone with advanced multimedia functionality. It includes a built-in camera, a Sony Memory Stick Duo for file storage, a jog dial for one hand usage and has a battery standby time of up to 400 hours.

The Sony Ericsson P800 smartphone is available as a Chinese language version, the P802 smartphone. The Sony Ericsson P802 has a complete Chinese interface for messaging and contacts and the input methods are Pinyin and Stroke. It also supports Chinese handwriting recognition.
