FOMA™ D701i
FOMA™ D701i manufactured by Mitsubishi for NTT DoCoMo’s FOMA 3G network is the third phone from Mitsubishi to utilize the capabilities offered by Symbian OS.
At only 104g, the D701i is one of the lightest Symbian OS-enabled phones in the Japanese market. The phone has easy to read, large icons and letters as well as “Emotional” lighting - a flashing light that alerts the user using color and lights when someone is calling.
FOMA D701i handsets will be compatible with the i-channel service and all standard FOMA services and functions, including videophone, ChakuUta™ ring songs, ChakuMotion™ ring videos, Deco-mail™ decorative emails, i-appli® JAVA® and Macromedia® Flash™ applications.
For a fee, users can receive automatic telop text news and information, which will be updated about every two hours. i-channel users can also add their own channels, which means any information provider can join the i-channel system.
A small window on the outside of the handset allows the user to view i-channel contents such as weather, headlines, stock market information, news and other channel content as a scrolling headlines even when the phone is closed.
The D701i also comes with an anti-bacterial treatment that helps to keep the phone clean and hygienic.
