The Smartphone Show, London, UK, October 16 2007 - Symbian Limited welcomes Samsung Electronics's commitment to Symbian OS as part of its open OS strategy by announcing and showcasing the latest Samsung smartphones based on Symbian OS at the Smartphone Show in London, UK., including the Samsung i450, i550 and i560.
During a keynote presentation, Samsung commented today on the rapid growth of the smartphone market and announced its strategy to meet this new demand, including an expansion of its smartphone portfolio. This year, Samsung has introduced five diverse Symbian smartphones including: the Samsung i550 and i560, announced today; the Samsung i450, launched last week; the Samsung i400, launched in September, and the Samsung i520, launched in July. All five phones are either currently shipping or will ship before the end of 2007.

The Samsung i550 is Samsung's first GPS phone. With a candy bar design, HSDPA 3.6 Mbps, web browsing and access to Web 2.0 services are made easy and with built-in GPS, consumers can easily navigate while on the move. Users can download limitless applications available from the S60 applications library and access their favorites using dedicated hot keys.
The Samsung i560 is the latest smartphone for the fashion conscious consumer. The i560 is perfect for trend-setting bloggers and young techie users who are the fastest adapters and leaders in enhancing their lifestyles with up-to-date information available through GPS and internet applications. It has a beautiful and sleek exterior design with a mirror coating on LCD with 16mm thickness.

The Samsung i450 is a music dedicated dual slider phone with extensive music player capabilities and sound quality highlighted by ICEpower® amplifier developed by Bang & Olufsen®. The mobile phone applies HSDPA connectivity at 3.6 Mbps so that users are available to enjoy multimedia features with higher data download speeds. Running Symbian OS v9.2 and S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1, the Samsung i450 provides advanced download applications available from the S60 applications library and multitasking features in faster data speeds while ensuring the highest level of power efficiency and reliability from the phone.
