Symbian welcomes the new Nokia N76 and Nokia N93i

09 January 2007 – Symbian Ltd. welcomes the launch of the new Nokia N76 and Nokia N93i, the latest editions to the Nokia Nseries portfolio unveiled at the CES 2007 exhibition today.  Both devices are based on S60 3rd Edition and Symbian OS™ version 9 and are expected to start shipping in volumes during the first quarter of 2007.

The Nokia N76 has a trim fold design that provides music controls on its cover, allowing quick and easy access to control its music features from the outside of the folded device. Its built-in 2.0 megapixel (1600 X 1200 pixels) camera features: capture, zoom and review functions on the handset’s large 2.4 inch display.  Viewing the screen in landscape mode brings a familiar experience to surfing the web on a PC and web pages can be navigated quickly and easily with the Nokia Web Browser with Mini Map.

The Nokia N93i follows on from the success of the Nokia N93, which is also based on S60 software on Symbian OS, and is slimmer and more compact in design.  The device boasts a host of advanced features including DVD-like quality video capture, direct video uploads, 3.2 megapixel (2048 x 1536 pixels) camera with Carl Zeiss optics, 3x optical zoom, autofocus and close-up mode.  With the 1 GB miniSD card included in the standard Nokia N93i sales pack, up to 45 minutes of DVD-like quality video or up to 1250 high-quality photos can be captured.

Full specifications of the Nokia N76 and Nokia N93i are available at www.nseries.com.  Read the full press releases and download at Symbian’s MediaCenter here http://www.symbian.com/news/cn/2007/commnews2007.html.
