May 18, 2006 – Symbian Ltd. today welcomed the announcement of the Nokia E50, the latest addition to Nokia’s Eseries family of business devices and the thinnest Eseries quad-band phone (EGSM 850/900/1800/1900) currently in the line-up.
Built on S60 3rd edition smartphone software and Symbian OS, version 9.1, the Nokia E50 comes equipped with pre-installed business applications, exceptional voice and calling functionality, and the ability to have two phone numbers in one phone, while lifestyle features include an MP3 player and an optional 1.3 mega pixel camera.
The Nokia E50 also includes:
• Support for multiple email solutions, including Intellisync Wireless Email by Nokia, BlackBerry Connect, Visto Mobile, Altexia, and Microsoft ActiveSync
• Pre-installed business applications such as The Nokia Team Suite (facilitates conference calls and initiates push-to-talk sessions) and Quickoffice Viewer
• With Avaya client: call forwarding, one-touch voice mail and extension dialling
• Remote enterprise grade device management through Intellisync Device Management solution
• Six hours talk time
