March 17, 2006 – Symbian Ltd. announced that Symbian OS™, the market-leading open mobile operating system for advanced mobile phones, is used in the NTT DoCoMo FOMA™ D702i, which was launched today. The FOMA D702i is manufactured by Symbian OS licensee Mitsubishi Electric Corporation.
This increases the total number of Symbian OS-based mobile phones shipped in Japan to 26. Symbian OS brings higher quality mobile phones with better features quickly to consumers, expanding the 3G cell phone market even further.
