December 16, 2005 – Symbian Ltd. announced that the NTT DoCoMo Raku-Raku PHONE Simple, which was launched today, is based on Symbian OS™, the leading, open standards based operating system for advanced mobile phones. The Raku-Raku PHONE Simple is manufactured by Symbian OS licensee Mitsubishi Electric Corporation.
This increases the total number of Symbian OS-based mobile phones available in Japan to 20. Symbian OS brings higher quality mobile phones with better features quickly to consumers, expanding the 3G cell phone market even further.
“FOMA” is a trademark or registered trademark of NTT DoCoMo, Inc. in Japan and other countries
NTT DoCoMo’s FOMA service is only available to subscribers in Japan
