Symbian OS™ used in four new models of NTT DoCoMo FOMA™ 902i Series

Leading phone manufacturers Fujitsu, Mitsubishi Electric, Sharp and Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications Japan select Symbian OS

October 19, 2005 – Symbian Ltd. today announced that Symbian OS, the leading open standard based operating system for advanced mobile phones, is used in four new models of NTT DoCoMo FOMA™ series, namely F902i, D902i, SH902i and SO902i.  The FOMA 902i series will be manufactured by Symbian OS licensee Fujitsu Limited (F902i), Mitsubishi Electric Corporation D902i), Sharp Corporation (SH902i) and Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications Japan, Inc (SO902i). 

SH902i and SO902i are the first models based on Symbian OS for Sharp and Sony Ericsson in Japan.  Symbian OS brings higher quality mobile phones with better features quickly to consumers, expanding the 3G cell phone market even further.

• NTT DoCoMo’s FOMA service is only available to subscribers in Japan.
• “FOMA” is a trademark or registered trademark of NTT DoCoMo, Inc. in Japan and other countries.
•  All other trademarks belong to their respective owners.
