London, UK, 4 January 2005 - Symbian has announced that two new phones based on Symbian OS are now shipping in the Japanese market.
The F901iC, the new FOMA 3G phone launched by NTT DoCoMo on December 24th 2004, is the seventh Symbian OS phone manufactured by Fujitsu Limited in Japan. The new phone was developed on NTT DoCoMo’s and Fujitsu Limited’s Symbian OS-based common software platform for FOMA, which was announced on November 18th 2004.
Vodafone KK also started shipping its first Symbian OS-based 3G phone, the Vodafone 702NK (Nokia 6630), in December last year.
