Symbian OS is the operating system that powers today’s most popular smartphones , including Nokia 7610, Sony Ericsson P 910, Siemens SX 1, Panasonic X 700 and Motorola A 1000. The open Symbian OS platform allows users to add third party applications to their phones, and personalize them to an unprecedented degree. To date, more than 4,200 Symbian OS applications have been developed and are now commercially available.
As sales of Symbian OS phones hit the 25 million mark, the Symbian OS application ecosystem is expanding at an average of 30% per quarter.
