David Levin to leave Symbian

LONDON, UK, 16th December 2004 - Symbian Limited today announces that David Levin, Symbian's Chief Executive Officer since March 2002 will leave Symbian at the end of March 2005 to take up the post of Chief Executive of United Business Media plc, a London Stock Exchange-listed company with revenues in 2003 of £746.7m, generated in professional media, news distribution and market research.

Sir Peter Gershon, Symbian's non-executive Chairman said:
"On behalf of the entire Symbian Board I would like to thank David for his immense contribution both as Symbian's Chief Executive and as a member of the Board. Under David's leadership, Symbian has strengthened and matured into the world's leading mobile operating system software company whose Symbian OS technology has been successfully adopted by the world's foremost handset manufacturers and network operators.
David will continue in his role as Chief Executive until he takes up his new post in April 2005. The Board will appoint David's successor in due course."
