Symbian pre-emption process to commence

LONDON, United Kingdom – 11th June 2004 – Symbian Software Limited notes that approval for the proposed sale of Psion PLC's holding in Symbian has been granted by competition authorities in Austria, Finland and Germany.

Symbian has now received formal notification from Shareholders to progress the sale and has therefore initiated the pre-emption process as set out in the company’s Shareholders’ Agreement.  This process enables Shareholders to subscribe for a proportion of the shares being sold.
