London, United Kingdom – 10 July 2003 – Symbian Ltd. today announces that Fujitsu Limited’s latest mobile videophone, the F2102V for NTT DoCoMo, Inc.’s FOMA 3G service is based on Symbian OS™.
The new F2102V is Fujitsu’s successor to the F2051, which was launched in January 2003, also for NTT DoCoMo’s FOMA 3G service in Japan. Based on its experience of developing the F2051, Fujitsu has further optimised the performance of the F2102V and has enabled the following enhanced features:
Fujitsu continues to be at the forefront of the development of advanced mobile phones based on Symbian OS for 3G networks. Fujitsu is taking advantage of the growing worldwide acceptance and take up of Symbian OS as the industry standard platform for the creation of advanced differentiating technologies and applications as well as compelling mobile content and services. Using Symbian OS - an architecture specifically designed for advanced mobile phones – has enabled Fujitsu to undertake rapid and flexible product development to meet the specific needs of customers.
