David Potter becomes interim Executive Chairman of Symbian

Following the successful completion of Symbian’s funding round in January 2002, David Potter, Chairman of Symbian, has assumed the role of interim Executive Chairman of the Company at the request of the Supervisory Board. David Potter was Non-executive Chairman.

The Symbian board has also appointed as interim joint Chief Operating Officers Thomas Chambers, Chief Finance Officer, and Kent Eriksson, Director of Programme Management.

The appointments have been made pending the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer of the Company. David Potter has already said that the Board is seeking a new Chief Executive Officer to further the Company's development. It remains the Board's intention to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer in due course.

Colly Myers, the current Chief Executive Officer, has decided to step down.
