London, UK - December 12th 2001 - Symbian today announced that the Symbian Developer Expo will take place on 23rd and 24th of April at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre, London, UK. The Symbian Developer Expo will focus on cutting-edge tools and resources available to third party companies enabling them to create compelling content, services and applications for Symbian OS mobile phones under development from companies such as Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Panasonic, Sanyo and Fujitsu.
The full two-day agenda features keynotes from leading figures in the wireless industry. Developers can choose from five simultaneous tracks of training and workshops on key wireless technology implementations and drivers for Symbian OS. Session topics highlighted in the Symbian Developer Expo include advanced data services and innovative solutions in the fields of wireless gaming, Java, video streaming and advanced multimedia, tools, synchronization, MMS, messaging and email, wireless browsing and wireless commerce. There will also be hands-on demonstrations of the latest Symbian OS phones from licensees.

Symbian supplies an operating system to the world's leading mobile phone manufacturers enabling them to create mobile phones which combine voice communications, wireless Internet access and computing functionality. Ericsson, Nokia and Psion are already shipping Symbian OS devices. Other licensees of Symbian OS include Fujitsu, Kenwood, Motorola, Panasonic, Sanyo, Siemens and Sony.
