Klockwork Introduces Source Code Analysis Tool For Symbian Smartphone Application Development

Klocwork first-to-market with enterprise source code analysis solutions for Symbian smartphone application development

BURLINGTON, Mass. - December 17, 2007 - Klocwork announced today that it has joined the Symbian Platinum Program to support the growing market for smartphones based on Symbian OS™. As a Platinum Partner, Klocwork has extended its source code analysis product suite to support the Symbian ecosystem. Symbian develops and licenses Symbian OS, the market-leading open operating system for advanced data-enabled mobile phones known as smartphones, to the world's leading handset manufacturers.

This robust, new defect rule set will automatically identify the following critical issues for Symbian developers:

Memory leaks through the identification of incorrect use of the Symbian OS clean up stack and memory management routines;Improper memory deletion which can lead to system panics or segmentation faults, and; A variety of maintainability issues such as member variable naming conventions.
