London, UK – 19 December 2006 – weComm, the leader in interactive mobile data solutions, today announced that it is strengthening its relationship with Symbian to enable delivery of even more compelling customer applications on Symbian OS™ for the broadening smartphone market. Symbian develops and licenses Symbian OS, the operating system that powers today’s most popular smartphones.
The two companies have formed a deep relationship following successful projects such as the weComm-developed BSkyB Sky Anytime on Mobile, which provides a superior user experience on Symbian smartphones to those running Java. This strategic partnership includes weComm joining the Symbian Platinum Partner Program.

“Having shipped over 100 million Symbian smartphones, choosing to develop on Symbian OS is a simple decision because it provides the volume and versatility required for content rich, mass market applications,” said Oliver Sturrock, COO at weComm. “Using a native Symbian OS application to deliver high-quality, interactive content on phones, provides accurate, responsive and feature-rich consumer experiences, which in turn helps our customers generate increased revenues.”
In joining the Symbian Platinum Program weComm joins top technology innovators and service providers in the mobile industry and weComm’s membership extends its collaboration with Symbian beyond the Symbian Venture Forum and Symbian Affiliate Partnership.
As a member of the Platinum Program, weComm will work with Symbian and the Symbian OS ecosystem to ensure that weComm customer solutions are seamlessly supported across multiple Symbian smartphones, and Symbian customers using weComm applications can enjoy the optimum user experience.
