CMWare brings myMobileMedia place-shifting solution to Symbian smartphones

CMWare and Symbian partner to deliver new digital media streaming experience to the mass market

The Symbian Smartphone Show, London, United Kingdom – 17 October 2006 –CMWare, Inc., a leading provider of PC place-shifting solutions for mobile carriers, today announced that it has joined the Symbian Platinum Program to support the growing market for Symbian OS™. As a Platinum Partner, CMWare is extending its newest application, myMobileMediaTM to the Symbian ecosystem.

myMobileMedia is a turn-key PC place-shifting solution for mobile carriers that reliably streams digital media from subscribers’ PCs to their mobile devices in any format, including music files, pictures, and DRM-protected content. Symbian develops and licenses Symbian OS, the operating system that powers today’s most popular smartphones. Symbian OS is licensed by the world’s leading mobile phone manufacturers and to date, over 82 million Symbian smartphones have shipped to over 250 major mobile network operators worldwide.

Symbian smartphones are growing in popularity. During H1 2006, 24 million Symbian smartphones shipped, representing a 65% increase compared to H1 2005. According to leading market analyst firm, Gartner, over 200 million smartphones will be selling worldwide each year by 2008.
