Malmö, Sweden – 26th August 2005 – TAT today announced that it has joined the Symbian Platinum Program to support the growing market for smartphones based on Symbian OS™. As a Platinum Partner, TAT is extending Kastor and their user interface competence to the Symbian OS ecosystem. Symbian develops and licenses Symbian OS, the operating system that powers today’s most popular smartphones. Symbian OS is licensed by the world’s leading mobile phone manufacturers who have shipped more than 39 million Symbian OS-based phones to date.

TAT works on all levels of the user interface: integrating the Kastor technology, and also providing graphical design and the usability competence. In relation to traditional techniques, Kastor also enables substantial memory and performance savings, which in turn lowers bill of materials for the phone manufactures.

The Symbian Platinum Program includes companies that have a technology or strategic position that is key to the success of mobile computing technology surrounding Symbian OS. As part of the program, Platinum Partners benefit from a range of commercial services, including technical support and joint marketing opportunities as well as privileged access to Symbian OS source code and a dedicated Partner Support team.
TAT is a Swedish software technology and design company offering products and services to differentiate and enhance the user experience of mobile devices.
