CommonTime enables Symbian OS for Lotus Notes

17 June 2005, UK - CommonTime, market leader in mobile computing solutions for Notes/Domino enterprises, has just officially announced the release of mNotes for Symbian OS extending their best of breed mobile and wireless Lotus Notes messaging solution to UIQ Symbian OS phones.

mNotes™ is renowned in Notes/Domino circles as the gold standard for enabling the use of Lotus Notes functionality on a handheld device. As Smartphones, such as the Sony Ericsson P900 and P910 (previously P800) find their way into enterprises, users and IT administrators have been keen to minimize costs and ensure that the technology is manageable. The robust nature of mNotes™ ensures that user experience for the Symbian OS device is of a high quality. It also minimizes any support burden for the IS/IT Administrator.

CommonTime
“mNotes for Symbian OS has been constructed for Notes/Domino from the ground up. It has never been an Exchange product dressed up in Lotus Notes clothes.” says Nigel Mackrill, CommonTime CEO. “As a result the software solution truly enables users to interact with their Lotus Notes e-mail, contacts, and other personal data on mobile devices more effectively than ever before.”

Initially, focus will be on the individual user without need to involve administrators or corporate servers. The evolution of CommonTime’s mNotes™ Symbian OS software will mirror the development success of Windows Mobile and Palm OS software over recent years. mNotes™ for Symbian OS includes:
